Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9e dans le cadre de la politique d&#8217;int\u00e9gration de l&#8217;art aux lieux publics. L&#8217;artiste a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi en d\u00e9cembre 2013 \u00e0 la suite d&#8217;un appel \u00e0 propositions ouvert. Andr\u00e9 Lapointe d\u00e9crit le choix du sujet et des mat\u00e9riaux : \u00ab Le choix du granite brun Nara pour r\u00e9aliser la sculpture et du pigment Baja rouge pour la base fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 la couleur de la rivi\u00e8re Petitcodiac et \u00e0 la palette de couleurs de l\u2019\u00e9difice (Place) Resurgo.
