To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fred Ross Scholarship, SHMF is delighted to offer several scholarships and bursaries to support the career development of young New Brunswick talents. Established in 2001, this educational program is an investment in New Brunswick youth and serves as the foundation’s enduring tribute to the beloved New Brunswick artist and mentor, Fred Ross.
SHMF is pleased to announce Océane Martin as the 2026 recipient of the 4-year renewable Fred Ross Scholarship. Ms. Martin, a graduating student from Cité des Jeunes A.-M Sormany high school in Edmundston will enter Sheridan College in September 2026 to pursue her interests in painting, drawing and animation.
Anna Welsford, a gifted painter graduating from Kennebecasis Valley High School, has been selected for a first year bursary to support her studies at Mount Allison University.
Jade Cormier, a young textile artist from Edmundston has been awarded a bursary to support her upcoming studies at the International Fashion Academy in Paris.
Evelyn McDonald, a mixed media artist from Riverview High School will receive a first year bursary in support of her fine arts studies at Mount Allison University.
