Seok Joo Lee

2014 Fred Ross Scholarship.

Seok Joo Lee, a recent graduate of St. Malachy’s High School in Saint John, has been selected by an independent jury of art professionals to receive the 2014 Fred Ross Scholarship.

The scholarship will be presented at Saint John Arts Centre as part of the opening of the summer exhibitions on July 11th. Executive Director, Andrew Kierstead will congratulate the young artist who is a recent graduate of the centre’s Portfolio Development Program.

Lee will enter the Fine Arts Program at Mount Allison University in September 2014.

Mr. Lee’s artist statement reflects a mature level of introspection and clarity of intent. His natural talent for composition, and his courageous exploration of self result in compelling work. For these reasons, we feel Seok Joo Lee shows great promise and is an artist to watch.”
