SHMF is pleased to present two 2021 Sheila Mackay Advanced Studies Scholarships, one in academic studies and one in a studio art concentration. Based on the recommendations of a professional jury, the Board of Directors congratulates Laura Oland and Lorne Power who both will receive a $5000 scholarship to support their continuing education. Ms. Oland, who holds a BAH from Acadia University, a MLitt Art History Dress & Textiles degree from the University of Glasgow is currently pursuing her PhD in Art History at Concordia University. Lorne Power, a Honors graduate of the Advanced Studio Practice program at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design is pursuing a MFA in studio art with a concentration in photography at the University of Lethbridge. SHMF is committed to supporting multi tract career development in the visual arts through these annual scholarship opportunities. The Board of Directors acknowledges the professional jury service of Sarah Brinkhurst, Julie Forgues and Jean Rooney in the 2021 adjudication of the Sheila Mackay Advanced Studies Scholarship.
