The Jury Process

At the core of all awards and scholarships is a professional assessment of qualifications. Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation seeks qualified expertise nationally, internationally and provincially.

Juries are convened with the assistance and recommendations of national and provincial governmental, educational and professional agencies. Impartiality is insured through the use of formal conflict of interest disclosure procedures. Our jury process was reviewed by Canada Council in 2009 and is scrutinized within the biennial strategic planning of the foundation.

The Board of Directors respects the choices of the jury for all awards and scholarships.

The Foundation reserves the right to refuse nominations and applications that do not meet the published criteria or submission deadlines.
