Arts Advocacy Award 2010

Board of Directors Arts Advocacy Award

The Board of Directors presented Mr. James C. Irving the Board of Directors’ Arts Advocacy Award in recognition of the significant contribution made to the promotion of the arts through the creation of Salon, a weekly magazine featuring documentary and critical writing about New Brunswick arts and culture.  Salon’s continuing evolution as an informative and critical publication provides a valued resource for our artists and artisans.

Journalist, Ms. Kate Wallace was awarded a $1000 Award for her work in the infancy of Salon.  Ms. Wallace’s work in illuminating the personalities and concerns of a wide variety of visual artists has created a renewed interest in the visual arts.  Her contributions to the detailed retrospective publication in conjunction with the 2009 Fred Ross Tribute single her out for this monetary award in conjunction with the Arts Advocacy Award given to the Telegraph Journal.
