Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation is proud to announce a signature grant awarded to the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design to sponsor a virtual lecture series A free weekly series of professional talks has been organized in partnership with the Atlantic Centre for Creativity to celebrate the talent and exceptional work of New Brunswick artists. Building on a public program initiated in 2019, this virtual series reaches far beyond the traditional boundaries of local lecture format.
Conceived and organized by the Studio Head of the NBCCD Graduate Studies Program, Jean Rooney, this series of talks by artists and designers is a platform especially relevant during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Rooney notes, “it is essential to support and communicate with each other as artists and designers. As artists and artist-educators, we teach what we know, but often, we teach who we are. In particular, we model to emerging artists and each other how to adapt, renew and survive. With this in mind, the speaker series shares the resilience and creativity of creators.”
With this sponsorship, SHMF continues to promote the visual arts of New Brunswick through the support of innovative New Brunswick driven projects. More information on this public series:
