Call to Create was an innovative two day conference dedicated to discussion of the current status of the visual arts in New Brunswick. SHMF’s invitation to this networking and visioning session was based on the belief that collaboration with and within the visual arts is a vital element of the eco-system of our community, our province and beyond. Using an Open Space Meeting Format, SHMF committed to open discussion of current concerns and aspirations
Over one hundred and twenty artists and arts administrators gathered in Fredericton at the Wu Conference Centre to identify challenges and opportunities and to renew the spirit of forging a path for sustainability in the arts.
Members of the Board of Directors of SHMF used the information gathered during this conference in its continuing evaluation of the philanthropic initiatives of the foundation.
