Brigitte Clavette is a nationally acclaimed artist and educator. She received a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, majoring in jewellery. She has taught at NBCCD, Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre, Nunavut Arctic College and the Haliburton School of Fine Arts in Ontario and served as Studio Head of Jewellery/Metal Arts at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. Clavette became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2000, won the Excellence Award for Craft from the Province of NB in 2002. In 2006, she was awarded the Strathbutler for both creative excellence and significant contribution to New Brunswick. Clavette exhibits nationally and internationally.
She is deeply committed to serving the artistic community locally, regionally and nationally in a board spectrum of activities. In 2017, Clavette was asked to join the Board of Directors of the SHMF and is a valued leader in program assessment and development.
