Clarence Bourgoin of St. Léonard will be honoured with the Board of Director’s Arts Advocacy Award, an annual award of $1000 based on a nomination and selection process within the Board of Directors. The funds are given both to recognize individuals who work to initiate events and activities that forward the cultural life of the province. It is given both as a mark of respect for those who foster artistic life and as a contribution to the causes they espouse. This year Clarence Bourgoin will be honoured for his role in establishing the “Rendez-vous des Artistes” in the northwest of the province that has developed into a much anticipated arts event visited by thousands.
Board president Louise Imbeault says “Through the efforts of many, the province charts a course of excellence. The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation is a proud champion of New Brunswick leaders in the visual arts”
