Foundation recognises the lifetime dedication of Louise Imbeault

On the occasion of her retirement as Director of Radio-Canada Acadie, the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation recognises the lifetime dedication of Louise Imbeault to the promotion and support of arts and culture in New Brunswick. The 2011 Arts Advocacy Award is given to honor the impact she has made in both her professional and volunteer life.
Madame Imbeault championed the advancement and recognition of the arts both as a journalist and as director of Radio- Canada Acadie. Through her advocacy as a director on the Boards of Directors for Cassie Populaire de L’Assomption, the New Brunswick Museum and the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, a profound appreciation for th e vital role ft the arts in society has been embraced. Most recently, Imbeault was named co-chair of the newly formed Moncton cultural Board and in retirement continues her support for arts and culture in all its forms.
To recognise Madame Imbeault’s work, the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation will give a $1000 Arts Advocacy bursary to Erin Loughery. Ms. Loughery, a graduation student from Hampton High School, was selected by an independent scholarship jury. Erin will receive the bursary to assist her in her studies at Mount Allison University.
