The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation is pleased to announce Kristen Atkins as the 2014 recipient of the Sheila Mackay Advanced Studies Scholarship. Ms. Atkins, who is pursuing a Masters of Museum Studies at the University of Toronto, has been selected by an independent jury of arts professionals to receive this scholarship valued at $5000.
The jury praised the breadth of Kristen Atkins’ experience in varied art gallery and artist-run spaces, and the scope of her involvement in the cultural community as volunteer, fundraiser and board member. In addition to her impressive list of accomplishments to date, her letters of reference pointed out the positive impact of her generosity as a leader among her peers as well as the engaged dedication she demonstrates in any project she undertakes.
The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the expertise of the following individuals in this juried process:

- Peter Laroque, New Brunswick Head of Humanities and Curator of New Brunswick Cultural History and Art
- Dr. Jennifer Pazienza an artist and an art educator at the University of New Brunswick.
