Strathbutler Artists Featured in NBCCD “NB Craft Heroes” November 14th
To celebrate important contributors to the New Brunswick craft sector, the New Brunswick Crafts Council (NBCC/CMANB) is hosting a casual celebration, “NB Craft Heroes”, beginning at 6:30pm on Saturday, November 14th at Winner’s Lounge, just outside the Capital Exhibit Centre Fredericton.
At this event, the council will recognize the work of NBCC Honourary Members and founding members, consisting of many prominent New Brunswick craftspeople and craft supporters, including Peter Powning, Brigitte Clavette, Peter Thomas, Dr. Ivan Crowell, Charlotte Glencross, Nel Oudemans, Basil Stead, George Fry, Sue Judah, Gordon Dunphy, Tom Smith, Margaret Belyea, and more.
The council will also highlight the contributions to the craft sector of Derek Kirby, long-time coordinator of the Fredericton Christmas Arts and Craft Market, and Martin Aitken of Aitkens Pewter, and will present both of them with NBCC Honourary Memberships. “NB Craft Heroes” will feature a craft silent auction, cash bar and complimentary finger food from The Happy Baker.
This is a wonderful opportunity to mingle and connect with craft supporters, makers, advocates and professionals, as well as to celebrate New Brunswick craft of the past, present and future. All are welcome at this free public event!
