Jason Alcorn has been a director of the SHMF since 2014 and was recently named the President of the Board of Directors in June, 2018.
Jason joined the Financial and Consumer Services Commission (NB) in May 2006. In his current role as Senior Legal Counsel and Special Advisor, he helps shape laws and policies affecting New Brunswick’s capital markets.
Jason is a graduate from the Osgoode Hall Law School (LLM, ’18) and the Université de Moncton Faculty of Law (LLB, ‘05), and earned graduate degrees in both International Affairs (’01) and Public Administration (’15) from Sciences Po Paris and the National School of Administration in France respectively. He is a graduate of UNB (Saint John) (BA, ’98).
Jason is a frequent lecturer at both the Université de Moncton and UNB.
He is active in community affairs, formerly serving as chairperson of the Saint John Free Public Library, and currently serves on the board of directors of Dialogue NB and CPA New Brunswick. He is also a member of the Finance of the Committee of the Greater Saint John YMCA He resides in the Ragged Point neighbourhood of Saint John
