Imagined Dialogues
The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation was proud to work in partnership with Galerie Colline the Centre des arts de la petite église d’Edmundston, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the World Acadian Congress 2014 to present Imagined Dialogues.
This unique intergenerational exhibition showcased the work of fourteen creative voices from New Brunswick and crystallized the essence of contemporary Acadian culture. Throughout the summer of 2014, New Brunswick artists were at the forefront of a global celebration of French culture in Edmundston and a highlight of the autumn exhibitions at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery.
Since its formation in 1987, The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, has supported a wide range of special projects in addition to its various award programs, in the belief that each unique project contributes to the advancement of the visual arts in New Brunswick. In selecting Imagined Dialogues for a major 2014 grant, the foundation acknowledges the vision and dedication of many who have organized this significant endeavour. Congratulations to Christian Michaud and Vicky Lentz for tireless work to make this creative dialogue a reality. The curatorial expertise of Terry Graff and the commitment of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery to this project provided a rich context for all who experienced the exhibition.
